There are several reasons why you might need to bring in a water line locator to your property. You might just want to locate them in order to avoid hitting them during an excavation project and causing a geyser on your property. Or you might want to relocate water lines due to a renovation project. Or you might suspect (or know) that you have a water leak somewhere and need to find out exactly where. If the leak is under a concrete slab, it can be especially important to pinpoint where the leak is located so you only have to break up the smallest area of your concrete possible to fix it.
As we’ve discussed before in this blog, water line locating can be challenging—especially since most water lines are made from types of plastic (specifically PEX or PVC). Ground penetrating radar (GPR)—the go-to tool for many underground scanning companies—isn’t necessarily the best choice for water line locating.
Fortunately for our customers, Enhanced Scanning does more than just GPR scanning. We have a myriad of scanning tools in our “toolbelt” and have had great success locating buried water lines.
You don’t have to just take our word for it, however. We have had several customers leave reviews on Google talking specifically about our company’s water line locating abilities. Here’s what a few of them had to say:
I had a major leak on a 300 foot pvc water service that ran under concrete. I exhausted all my options on a starting point, I made a decision on using a fairly new procedure that Enhanced Scanning provides, Forrest (proprietor) responded and within a short time gave me a location, I asked how certain are you on this location he stated 100 percent, how could I argue with that? This gave me a starting point to take some doubt to minimize my excavation in concrete, I must admit I was skeptical as I have 40 [years of] experience on leak detection, locating and repairing, so when I excavate I must use all my resources, so his 100% trumped my very best guess, he fully exceeded all my expectations.”

I needed to locate my house PVC water line route so I could re-route it. I thought about renting some locating tools but then stumbled on Enhanced. I filled out the web request form and was contacted by phone immediately. They worked around my busy schedule and located my service promptly. I highly recommend Enhanced Scanning.”

We have a leak at our home where locating the water line was very problematic. They came out and quickly pinpointed its location. Very professional. I highly recommend them.”
