Recently, team members from Enhanced Scanning attended the Subsurface Utility Engineering Association (SUEA) Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. This was our first time attending the annual meeting, and it most likely won’t be the last! The conference included many educational sessions, an exhibit hall with industry vendors, as well as plenty of opportunities for networking and “talking shop” with other attendees.
As a company that likes to be forward thinking, events like this are extremely valuable to us at Enhanced Scanning. Not only do we get to meet others in the industry who are providing GPR scanning services and ancillary services in other parts of the country (and even in other parts of the world), but we also get to talk with representatives from companies that are creating new tools and technologies that can enhance the type of work we do. For example, we met with a representative from PointMan, a company that has created cloud and mobile mapping software for companies like ours that provide GPR scanning services. Their software works with all types of utility locating tools and then submits the data the tools collect to the cloud, so it can be viewed from anywhere in real time. This means that someone in the office can see the data being collected by a technician in the field and discuss the findings while the technician is still on site.
This is just one example of the type of cutting-edge technology that was on display at the SUEA Annual Meeting. In a recent episode of the Concrete Conversations Podcast, which is hosted by Enhanced Scanning owner Forrest Sim, there are multiple interviews with people at the SUEA Annual Meeting, including Association leaders, SUE practitioners, and exhibitors. From the podcast episode we linked to above, you can get a good sense of what the meeting was all about and the types of people who attended.
When you are looking for a company to provide you with GPR scanning services for underground utility locating, concrete scanning, or for any of your other scanning needs, it’s important to find one that prioritizes using the best tools and technologies. This is how you get the most accurate results from a GPR scanning service and get all the information you are looking for. Attending conferences like the SUEA Annual Meeting allows us to stay on top of the latest innovations in our industry and add new tools to our toolbox when they will benefit our clients.
