At Enhanced Scanning, we like to say that we’re experts at “finding the unfindable.” That phrase may seem like an oxymoron. (Afterall, how can you find something that’s unfindable?) What we really mean when we say this is that we find things that others consider unfindable.
There are a lot of companies and independent contractors out there who specialize in GPR scanning. They will come to your property with their ground penetrating radar (GPR) system and do a scan of the area in question. If your project is simple and straightforward, like if you just need to locate rebar in a slab of concrete, this might be perfectly adequate. However, more complex projects often require a multi-tool approach that not all GPR scanning companies can provide.
At Enhanced Scanning, we have invested in the tools and training to be able to offer our customers a more holistic solution. We have a toolbox full of highly specialized technologies that allow us to complete scanning projects that others can’t.
When it comes to something like concrete analysis, for example, GPR technology is useful for finding things like rebar or post-tension cables, but if you need other information, other technologies may be needed. For example, LiDAR is helpful for finding cracks in concrete that aren’t visible to the naked eye, and in very congested concrete slabs, it may be necessary to bring in X-ray technology to get the best results.
With underground utility locating, GPR is our go-to technology, but will also bring in other tools when needed. A pulse wave generator may be necessary to find plastic (PEX or PVC) water lines, or water lines that are buried deeper than normal. A sewer push camera may be used to help determine the depth and location of a sewer pipe. An electromagnetic locating tool might be necessary in water-saturated soil.
We never want to leave our customers with more questions than answers. Our goal is always to provide all the information needed so our customers can safely and confidently proceed with their projects.
We love a challenge! We are happy to take on complex projects that other companies might shy away from, and we are often referred by others in the industry for projects that require a high level of precision. We’ve worked on projects for government agencies and with large commercial enterprises, but we also work with private property owners who need the type of vital information we provide prior to developing or improving their properties.
When GPR isn’t enough, Enhanced Scanning has the tools and expertise to still get the job done! Contact us to schedule service or to have your initial questions answered.
