Whenever our team gets called out for concrete scanning services, we take it very seriously. Our clients are relying on us to deliver reliable results—every time!
Yes, some of our clients have us complete concrete scanning so they can “check the box,” so to speak. Maybe a structural engineer or an inspector has required they get their concrete scanned before their project can move forward, or their general contractor won’t disturb the concrete until he knows exactly what is located below the concrete’s surface. But even when a property owner begrudgingly hires us because someone else made them do it, deep down, they understand the importance of having a concrete scan done.
Regardless of why we were brought in, or whose idea it was to have the concrete scan done, our team always strives to deliver the most accurate results possible! For most of our clients, this involves a concrete scan using ground penetrating radar (GPR). A GPR scan can locate items embedded in the concrete, such as utility lines, rebar, and post-tension cables. Locating these items is important because hitting any of them when disturbing the concrete can result in expensive damage. It could even put the person disturbing the concrete in harm’s way.
Just about every expert out there will agree that ground penetrating radar is the best technology there is for locating and identifying embedded hazards in concrete. And when trained and experienced technicians, like those at Enhanced Scanning, use GPR scanning technology, it is highly effective in delivering accurate results. So, because we have the right equipment and some of the best technicians operating it and interpreting the data, we can confidently present our clients with the information they need to safely proceed with their projects that involve disturbing concrete!
If there are any question marks in our findings using GPR, we can bring in additional non-destructive tools to bring more clarity to the situation. If the client doesn’t want to pay for additional investigation, we can advise them accordingly by pointing out the areas in which they should proceed with caution. However, in the majority of cases, we are able to provide our clients with extremely accurate results that they can trust.
We may also bring in other tools when a client needs a more comprehensive picture of their concrete (other than just what is embedded in it). We can help them determine the concrete’s thickness, identify any voids, create a crack map, and more. Do you have any questions about our concrete scanning services? We would be happy to answer them. Or if you’re ready to schedule service, we can help you with that as well
